Ballon Dor Football Academy share and promote the FA's Respect Code. We believe everyone has a responsibility to create a positive sporting environment. This includes coaches, team managers, and club officials who play a vital role in setting a good example. All coaches, managers, and officials must treat their teams, other players, and match officials with respect.
Coaches, Team Managers and Club Officials:
At Ballon Dor Football Academy, we believe creating a positive and respectful environment is essential. Here's how coaches, team managers, and club officials can contribute:
- Leading by Example: We expect everyone involved to show respect to players, opponents, match officials, and spectators, both on and off the field.
- Promoting Fair Play: Encourage high standards of behaviour and a commitment to fair play during games.
- Respecting Officials: Treat referees and match officials with respect and encourage players to do the same. Only enter the field of play with the referee's permission.
- Positive Communication: Avoid offensive, insulting, or abusive language. Be mindful of the impact your words can have on others.
- Sportsmanship: Win graciously and accept defeat with dignity.
- Respecting Facilities: Treat facilities at both home and away games with care.
Player Development and Wellbeing
Our top priority is the well-being, safety, and enjoyment of all our players. Here's what you can expect from us:
- Positive Coaching Environment: We foster a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Bullying of any kind is never tolerated.
- Age-Appropriate Activities: We design activities that are suitable for the players' age and abilities, ensuring a fun and challenging experience for all.
- Collaboration for Player Success: We work closely with other professionals, such as officials, doctors, welfare officers, and physiotherapists, to ensure each player's needs are met and their development is maximised.
- Safeguarding Commitment: We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all our players. Our coaches are familiar with safeguarding practices and relevant FA guidance documents, including those on:
- Physical Contact and Young People (5.6)
- Acceptable Behaviours When Working with Young People (5.7)
Maintaining High Standards
We are committed to creating a positive and safe environment for everyone. Here's what happens if you fail to uphold these standards:
- Disciplinary Action: Failure to comply with the code may result in a meeting with the Club Committee, League, or the CFA's Designated Safeguarding Officer.
- Potential Suspensions: The club may suspend you from attending matches, or the County FA may impose a suspension or fine.
- Serious Consequences: In serious cases, you may be required to leave the club, lose your position, or have your licence withdrawn.
